Brydge W-touch wireless trackpad facilities
Brydge will start offering a new line of Surface peripherals with the Designed for Surface logo on August 17th, indicating that they were created in partnership with Microsoft. The range includes keyboards for the Surface Pro and Surface Go, but the $99.99 Brydge W-touch wireless trackpad is the most exciting gadget in the group. It’s the first W-Touch standalone trackpad for Windows 10, according to reports.

It supports Precision drivers and multitouch gestures like pinch to zoom and multifinger swipes to switch desktops, and it includes Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. The W-Touch is supposed to have a month’s worth of battery life and can be charged through USB-C. A W-Touch standalone trackpad for $100 isn’t cheap, but as the only standalone, wireless alternative created in collaboration with Microsoft, Brydge gets to choose the price. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but it could be a useful tool to have on hand if a mouse isn’t working for you.

At $59.99, it appears to be a fantastic deal right away. The complete design, including the printing on the keys, gives the impression that it might be a Microsoft accessory – and that it would be overpriced for the first standalone wireless trackpad for Windows 10. The keys include a scissor mechanism with 2mm of motion, according to Brydge, which is the “ideal” amount of travel. There’s enough to get thrilled about if it’s anything like what the Surface Laptop 3 features.
This model of W-Touch standalone trackpad offers Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity and can connect to up to four devices, allowing you to conveniently move between computers. Brydge promises that a single charge will last up to a month. You may charge it through USB-C once it zaps out. Like the Brydge Pro Plus keyboard for the iPad Pro, it can be balanced on your lap or closed and tossed in a bag.

The Surface Pro 4, 5, 6, and 7 are compatible with the $149.99 Pro Plus model, while the Surface Go and Go 2 are compatible with the $139.99 Go Plus model and the first standalone wireless trackpad for Windows 10. These, like the Brydge Pro Plus keyboard for the iPad Pro, turn your Surface into a classic clamshell laptop that can be balanced on your lap or closed and tossed in a bag. You can simply pop the Surface out of the Brydge’s hinge and go when you wish to use it as a tablet. The Brydge provides a more steady typing experience and longer key travel than Microsoft’s Surface keyboards. However, it does require charging every three months, and the Bluetooth connection isn’t as dependable as the Surface keyboards’ pogo pins. The Surface becomes substantially thicker and heavier as a result, yet it remains a very portable product.
