As HMD Global was expected to unveil the Nokia G50 5G at its event, the device was unveiled two weeks earlier without notice. However, since the G50 is still part of the G-Series family, you should expect 2 years of operating system updates and 3 years of security updates. Meanwhile, X series phones will receive operating system updates for up to 3 years and security updates for up to 4 years. It should be noted that the G50 5G will be launched with Android 10 in the box.

Specifications of Nokia G50 5G

The G50 has a 6.82-inch LCD display. The image and color resolution of this display is not very interesting and is limited to 720p + and covers 70 NTSC color spaces. The brightness of this display is at the highest level of 450 nits.

As mentioned earlier, the beating heart of this phone is the 8nm Snapdragon 480 chip, which has two 2.0 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and 6 1.8 GHz A55 cores, next to the Adreno 619 GPU. This chipset with the X51 modem supports sub-6 5G bandwidth up to 2.5 Gbps.

The G50’s main camera uses a 48-megapixel sensor, which comes with an ultra-wide 5-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel depth-detection camera. The battery capacity of this phone is 5000 mAh and Nokia has provided an 18 watt charger for it. According to the company, this battery can be charged to users for up to 2 days with just one charge.

Nokia G50 5G review

The Nokia G50 will be available in two colors: Ocean Blue and Messi (Midnight Sun). Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, 5.0 Bluetooth support, Wi-Fi 6 and NFC. A USB-C port for charging and a fingerprint sensor integrated with the power key for biometric authentication are also provided for the G50. This phone also has a dedicated Google Assistant key.

The Nokia G50 will be available in the base version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. A 128.6GB version will also be available. Despite the memory card slot, it is possible to increase the space up to 512 GB for this phone. The base price of the G50 in the European market is 270 euros and it will start selling next month. For comparison, the X10 is priced at € 310 and the G20 at € 160.

The Finnish company HMD Global is scheduled to hold an event on October 5th. We expect to see more Nokia products unveiled at the event.
