During the keynote, Samsung executive vice president and chief research scientist, Sebastian Seung, said that Ballie’s Al features turn it into a fitness assistant or remote control. He said Ballie the robot is the new friend to your kids and pets. It is also a camera that can record and store good moments, just like a family photo album.

According to Seung and Kim, technology is getting more and more personal each day. Kim believes that the Age of Experience is the next era of technology. In the Age of Experience, consumers are looking for devices that allow them to do more, instead of getting new gadgets for the sake of the gadget.

Seung said they no longer believe that one size fits all, and they are looking for ways that can treat everyone as individuals. Seung added that Ballie the robot and Samsung’s other efforts in AI will combine privacy standards with stringent data protection.

Seung said that they wanted to make Ballie a fun, smart, and helpful robot. He added that keeping secrets was an option that they wanted to put in Ballie because people want an AI that they can trust.
