Razer unveiled a gaming router at CES 2018, and now at CES this year we saw the company’s first 5G gaming router modem.

Sila 5G is a router modem and 5G hotspot for gamers. This device connects to 5G mobile networks and then provides users with Wi-Fi internet. Of course, it also has Gigabit Ethernet ports so that gaming devices can connect to high-speed Internet via a network cable.

Unlike most home routers, the Sila 5G modem is a mobile hotspot and its battery can be recharged. This means that this modem can be carried on the router and used in places where it is not possible to connect to electricity. A big advantage of this hotspot is establishing a secure connection and network for exchanging information so that the user does not need public Wi-Fi.

Like the original Silla router, this router modem benefits from Razer’s FasTrack technology. The company’s traffic management tool that automatically analyzes network status, devices, bandwidth, and traffic, and prioritizes devices. Also, this 5G router is equipped with a gaming mode.

Of course, users can also manually prioritize networked devices, such as gaming consoles or PCs. Razer says that in the admin panel of this device, some applications and services can also be prioritized.

In terms of hardware, this 5G modem uses the Qualcomm X55 modem chip. The chip supports both types of 5G networks (frequencies below 6 GHz and millimeter frequencies) and of course has the ability to connect to 4G LTE networks.

The WiFi of this 5G router modem uses the Hawkeye IPQ8072A chip, which is capable of supporting WiFi 6. It has a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port and 4 1 Gigabit LAN ports along with a USB 3.0 port.
